Lookout (LKT)
An individual is appointed and certified as competent to give warning of approaching trains to others within three metres of a line which is not closed to traffic or is not separated by a fence or by a distance of at least 2 metres (6 feet 6 inches) from the site of work.

An individual is appointed and certified as competent to provide their own protection to enable them to carry out activities on or near the line.

Engineering Supervisor (ES)
An individual appointed and certified as competent to be in charge of each separate worksite within a possession, to establish, maintain and give up worksites and authorise the movement of trains into or within the worksite.
