Leaky Feeder

Leaky Feeder provides a complete communications system which includes;

• Multi-channel voice communications across the complete worksite
• Telephone communication between worksite radios and national telephone or cellular network

When combined with directional antennas the system is capable of operating equally well in open areas, tunnels or cuttings.

The voice communication facility provides:

• A total Integrated voice communication system
• Portable to portable communications
• Mobile radios, which can be installed in all vehicles
• Hands free operation for vehicle operators
• Fixed radios installed at entrances to site
• Full voice data recording

Subject to future approval the system can also be used to transport data from the site to allow monitoring of the following:

• Tunnel environment (gas, temperature, humidity, dust etc)
• Switch and crossing settings
• Vehicle maintenance information

All the above data can be displayed on local or remote SCADA screens.
